Walk of Shame is the book for a good spicy time. Our FMC Astrid was left at the altar by her high school sweetheart turned professional goalie.  Five years later, she’s a woman who despises hockey despite working as the assistant to her dad who’s the head coach of a pro hockey team.  She’s understandably distrustful of men and the idea of relationships, so she’s developed a set of life rules.  Most important one? Never spend more than one night with a guy.

Enter Cal, the lovable, pink-sweater-wearing goalie-whisperer who has been hired as her ex-fiance’s goalie coach.  Oh, and he also happens to be her most recent one-night stand.  This might get messy…

This was my first book by Avery Flynn. I loved it; the spice was fantastic, and there was great banter, a strong FMC, and a MMC obsessed with his girl. Hockey is a big part of this story, but the reader doesn’t need to understand the sport to enjoy the book.

For content warnings – there’s not a lot, parental death (not on page), bloody injury explanation (if someone doesn’t like blood, it can be skipped), anxiety. But it’s down to earth hilarious!!

Thanks to Valentine PR & Avery Flynn for a copy of Walk of Shame.

ARC (Advance Reader Copy)
I was gifted a galley of this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
