There are multiple cocktails called “Stardust” and even one called Ziggy Stardust, but after pouring (hah!) over recipes, I decided to go with this one.

One of note that was not chosen comes from cocktailwave, a combination of creme de cassis, earl grey tea, champagne and lemon peel, creation of Nic Polotnianko. Lora isn’t a fan of Earl Grey – to quote VE Schwab, “Earl Grey isn’t tea.” If not for this, the cocktail sounds quite lovely.

2 oz light white rum
1/2 oz Parfait Amour liqueur (if this cannot be easily sourced, creme de violette can be subsituted)
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 oz “rich” simple syrup (made of 2 parts sugar to 1 part water instead of the usual 1:1 ratio)

Add all ingredients to a shaker with crushed ice, strain into chilled coupe glass.

Express the citrus oils over the drink by twisting the garnish, outside toward the drink. You should be able to see the citrus oils when you do this. Garnish with lemon zest twist and/or float edible viola flowers.
